Festival PhotoSaintGermain Institut National des jeunes aveugles 56, Bld des Invalides – Paris 7
Driven by a shared sensibility and often converging artistic choices, PhotoSaintGermain and a ppr oc he have presented many of the same artists over the years. This year, PhotoSaintGermain and a ppr oc he have chosen to strengthen their ties through a new collaboration: “crossed perspective”.
For this edition, a ppr oc he is supporting the Sixtine de Thé exhibition, presented as part of PhotoSaintGermain. In return, PhotoSaintGermain will support Léonard Bourgois Beaulieu’s solo show at a ppr oc he.
A fertile dialogue between two leading photography events in Paris, a new dynamic that reflects their shared commitment to the contemporary art scene.
Pellicules aveugles is a project created in collaboration with blind and visually impaired individuals. After photographing them, the artist invited them to produce a tactile image by engraving onto large-format film. Braille tools allowed them to feel the raised lines they were drawing, and painting made it possible to draw directly with light — leaving marks that darkened during the development process. The images therefore contain both forms and figures drawn with light, as well as the traces left by touch — by those who see with their hands. Retinal visions and inner perspectives come together to create a new kind of visual riddle.
